Mission Hills Golfathon

Eligibility to Participate

Open to all amateur players.
All players must properly register for the tournament by completing the Tournament Entry Form and submitting it to the Tournament Office, Mission Hills Golf Club, China, by 23rd August 2010.

*Juniors are in the same division.

All participants must have valid proof of handicap; players shall be grouped into the divisions according to their gender and age (as of 1 May 2010); men aged 50 and above and junior boys with a handicap of 18 and below may declare to play in the Men’s Division if they wish to tee off from the Blue tees. This should be declared on the Entry Form.

Tournament Format

The format of play shall be 180 Holes Individual Double Peoria Strokeplay Competition.

Double Peoria Handicap System

Select any holes randomly with pars adding up to 48.
Add up scores of the 12 holes selected.
Multiply the sum by 1.5
Subtract 72 to give full handicap value.
Multiply 0.8 to give the Double Peoria handicap value.

Qualifying

All players are to complete the first 9 matches on the World Cup, Vijay, Faldo, Ozaki, Els, Annika, Duval, Norman and Leadbetter courses, in any order. After completion, the net score of each of these qualifying matches shall be added together, giving the cumulative total net score of the player.

All players are to complete the 9 qualifying matches on or before 31st August 2010.

A total of 100 players shall qualify for the 2010 Mission Hills Golfathon Final

*10 other players with the best scores from any division who have not qualified based on the above.

Those players who miss the cut for the Final will be allowed to play their last round within one month after the date of the Tournament Final.

Tournament Final

The date of the Tournament Final is scheduled for 12th September 2010 (subject to change with prior notification) and shall be played over the Olazabal Course in Double Peoria Handicap Strokeplay format. The overall Champion of the tournament shall be determined by the player with the lowest gross score in the final 18-hole competition on the Olazabal Course. A prize presentation lunch shall be arranged for all finalists.

Pairing

To ensure acceptable scores, all pairings must be done by the Tournament Office in such a way that players shall act as markers for each other in each golf round. Therefore, a minimum of two players per flight is required.

Tournament Results

The decisions of the Tournament Committee and the Tournament Director regarding any disputes, rulings and results are valid and final.

- Mission Hills reserves the right to limit the number of entries and modify the tournament in any way it deems desirable.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to disqualify any player making a false statement on their Entry Form or Score Card.
- Should any disputes arise from any of the tournament regulations, Mission Hills reserves the right to have the final decision.
